The gas situation

September 28, 2008 at 1:57 pm (life) (, )

Right now I’m finding it in completely the wrong places!!  I can’t seem to find it for more car anywhere (more on that later) but poor Megan on the other hand has plenty!!  Right now I feel like I’m playing the old “Firedrill” game … you know, where you hop out of the car & run around to change places … with bottles!  So far one by MAM seems to be working out ok.  At least enough to stick with it and hope for the best.

Now to the gas for my car … the pumps are either dried up or you wait in line for absolutely ever!!! Take your pick but there’s not much in between.  Lines are literally wrapping around buildings (more than once), fights are breaking out, and the other day I even saw Waffle House setting up outside so people could buy coffee as they waited in line.  Some Krogers are even passing out bottled water as you wait!!!  It’s absolute craziness.  Now “they’re” saying possibly another couple weeks of this mess.  My goodness!!

Jack is back

September 25, 2008 at 8:45 am (Fall TV Lineup) (, , , )

Well still not exactly.  He’s STILL not back on 24 yet, but he does make a mean dinosaur!  He’s the voice of one of the “longnecks” in “The Land Before Time – The Great Longneck Migration” … also known in our House as “The New Dinosaur Movie”.  It’s not new, but new to Evan.  Anyhow – hearing Jack (or Keifer technically) makes me miss my 24!!  Especially with new shows starting up again.

What are you watching??  I’ve been sucked back into Dancing with the Stars again and a little of the Biggest Loser.  I think it’s an interesting group of dancers this go around so I’m amused & still in awe.  Wouldn’t it be fun to dance like that!!!

My current guilty pleasure is the new 90210 – like OMG Kelly had a baby with Dylan but he’s not exactly in the picture and like Kelly & Brenda are like BFFs now!!

There’s also a new show on called “Priviledged” – it’s on the CW.  For whatever reason I think it’s really cute so I’m giving that a shot.

Of course, I’m catching all those between bedtime stories, bottles, dirty diapers & also keeping up with the political scene through Fox & CNN – you have to watch both to see a tiny bit of middle ground!!

No wonder

September 23, 2008 at 8:21 pm (3 year olds, baby girl, infants, shots)

I had to take Megan to the Dr. today for shots while Evan was at “school”.  My conversation with Evan went like this:

Evan:  Is Megan sick?

Me:  No.

Evan:  Well why is she going to the Dr.?

Me:  Because she has to get some shots.

Evan:  With a gun?!?!?!?!

NO WONDER kids are frieghtened to go to the Dr. and get shots!!!!

If only

September 17, 2008 at 8:14 pm (3 year olds, newborns, parenting)

If only this could happen a few more times during the day (or just a few more times period) …

Oh the sweet sound of two sleeping children … at the SAME TIME!

Soccer star

September 9, 2008 at 8:50 pm (3 year olds, soccer)

Evan had his first soccer practice last week.  He’s still too young to play in a league with real games, but the Y has a fundamental league for him to start learning some “skills” (heehee).   At the most he’ll learn a few things and at the very least, he gets to run around a field and get an hours worth of energy out!!  Both are sounding good to me these days!

Passing thoughts

September 6, 2008 at 9:43 pm (life with two, newborns)

It’s been about two weeks since I posted last.  And it’s been about two weeks since bringing home Megan and having two little ones in the house … think those two are related in any way – you’re right!  Time – that’s something I haven’t seemed to find to much of lately.  Hopefully I’ll get better at that!

Anyhow, I thought the easiest catch up would be to just share a few of the thoughts that have passed through my mind the last two weeks … plus that’s about all i can muster up right now:

1.  Will my three year old ever love me again like he did “pre-Megan”?

2.  Is God just showing his sense of humor when Pep got a stomach bug last Sunday?

3.  I need to get some sleep.

4.  Baby girls are fun … even the dryer lint is pink!!!

5.  Ok God, Did I not laugh at the joke hard enough so that’s why Evan got an Ear Infection this week?

6.  I still need to get some sleep.

7.  Oh I forgot about baby hiccups!

8.  I love baby feet!

9.  I’m getting good at doing anything & everything with just one hand.

10.  Yipee!!!  My smile is slowly going back to normal (or at least “pre-bells palsy”)!

11.  I REALLY need to get some sleep …

Oh – and to “Stephanie” that said Megan “was not beautiful” … well you’re mean!!!!!
