What’s a Sister Staci Cruise?

January 23, 2008 at 5:23 pm (Uncategorized)

Does anyone know?  I received a search hit for “Sister Staci Cruise” … obviously they came to a site that wasn’t very helpful to them, but it made me think – what is a “Sister Staci Cruise” anyways?  Is it a cruise for nuns – that was my first thought anyways – kind of like a “Sister Maria” Cruise?  After my hit, I did a search as well, but nothing was helpful.  If you’ve ever heard of one, I’d be curious – could you imagine a whole cruise about my ‘sister Staci’???  Oh my goodness!!!

Big News!!

January 19, 2008 at 9:04 am (big news, Deal or No Deal) (, )

I won $200,000!!!  In points that is – on the online version of Deal or No Deal!  It’s so much fun – like Solitaire Vegas Style – only better!  I’d love to be on that show.  I don’t think I’m crazy enough so I’d probably have to ‘ham up’ the audition pretty good, but how much fun would that be?!?  I think I like it because it doesn’t take any talent & you don’t have to be smart.  The only thing you have to do is know when to take a deal & when to take a risk.

Number 11 would be my case of choice.  And when picking the other cases I wouldn’t pick birthdays or the number of kids I have, or anything silly like that.  I always feel bad when they pick #18 because that’s their only daughter’s birthday and then it ends up being the $1million & it’s all her fault that they won’t win it.

I spent my $200k pretty quickly in my mind, so I might have to go for more next time.

Oh yea, but the whole point of my ‘Big News’ post was to say that we’re expecting our 2nd child – due late August / early September.  I’m still w/out my camera, so I’ll leave Staci the job of giving a more exciting post.  So if I did make it on Deal or No Deal & I did pick cases by the number of children I have … well I’d soon have to pick #2:)

It started again.

January 16, 2008 at 6:53 pm (snow) ()

Snowing that is:)  I wish I had a digital camera (mine broke – so sad), because it’s so pretty.  We’re up to a good little stinking on the ground & back deck.

Ok – I promise that’s all the meteorologist updates I’ll post for the evening.  But if this becomes the blizzard of ’08, now that will be another story!  It’s going to be a long night w/ good ole’ Glen & the Severe Weather Team.

The Biggest Idol

January 16, 2008 at 5:22 pm (Uncategorized) (, )

After the earache episode yesterday all I wanted to do was veg on the couch.  So after I made a to-die-for dinner (aka heated up soup from a can and made a grilled cheese sandwich), I sat down & switched back & forth between The Biggest Loser & American Idol (thank you writer’s strike).

So I must say I’m VERY happy that Neill & Amanda were voted off.  Amanda was fine but Neill was the “biggest loser” for other reasons!  I would be so mad at him if I were Amanda & certainly if I were one of the other contestants.  I think it’s great that they both are still loosing weight, but I don’t think he’s changed very much because Amanda was still loosing as much as he was – he just wasn’t putting up numbers for a guy.  I’m interested to see what the ‘big twist’ is – they have to vote for someone else?!?  I’m not that sure.

American Idol – well it was the usual – some were funny, some were stupid & a few were good.  I can watch a little bit of these episodes, but definitely not two hours worth.  I think the funniest was the guy in the mustard color suit – I mean really what was up with that?

It’s snowing:)

January 16, 2008 at 5:12 pm (snow)

I just looked up & out the window … it’s snowing:)  I think flurries is more accurate, but we haven’t seen snow in a while!!  We haven’t seen real snow since the “blizzard of ’93” … I’d be so happy to see something like that again.  It doesn’t take much here in GA to stop the presses, but I still get giddy when there’s a chance.  I watch the news as if I’m going to get out of school the next day – which isn’t going to happen either way b/c I’m not in school … I think it just makes me feel young still:)

Earaches – Yuck!

January 16, 2008 at 8:51 am (Uncategorized)

We managed to go 2-1/2 years without an earache & now we haven’t even gone 1 month and we’re on our 2nd one!!! What is up with that??  These things are crazy – it’s like he goes to sleep fine & wakes up in serious pain.  They seem to come out of no where.  And there’s absolutely nothing I can do or say to make the little guy feel better, it makes you feel horrible.   Plust I have to admit, I don’t do good when other people are sick. I’m one of those that like to be left alone when I’m sick.  I think I just don’t do whiny good – that’s mean I know – I don’t mean it like that, of course I would do anything for him.  I’d just rather be sick than him!!  But the good news is that the medicine is the closest thing to a miracle that I’ve seen – other than that one real miracle that I saw!

Everyone’s an Audience

January 14, 2008 at 8:08 am (Uncategorized)

That’s the case with the little guy anyways.  Whether you want to be or not (want to = family, not = probably everyone else), you stand the chance of becoming his audience.  He’ll sing, play air guitar & take more bows than he deserves for his performance but if he feels he has a captive audience he’s going to take advantage of it.  At times it can be a little embarrasing but I guess it’s better than the approaching stage of when he asks all those ‘really’ embarrasing questions.

His favorite places to perform (outside of the 24-hour stage that our living room has become) is the grocery cart – it’s a moving stage … how fun is that!  Any restaurant like Moes or Firehouse where they yell at you when you come in … that gets him excited because he thinks they like for you to yell back!  Any time we’re in line & especially when he has a hat on while waiting in that line … that’s normally when he practices his bows & ‘thank yous’.   Any time he passes a mirror or his reflection … even if he’s the only captive audience, that still works for him!  And of course anytime there’s an echo (like a parking lot or public restroom) … to him that’s just sound effects for his concert!

So on Saturday night Pep was out watching the game & the little guy & I had a date at Firehouse … so the ‘concert’ started as soon as we walked in the door & they said “Welcome to Firehouse”.  Then of course we had to wait in line & they gave him a hat (oh brother).  And the only open table happen to be next to the front window where we had to sit next to our reflections (here we go again).  Finally he had to go potty half way through dinner, so anyone sitting 20 feet next to the bathrooms was treated to an encore!

Too bad he doesn’t get paid by the performance:)

B O R-ing

January 12, 2008 at 7:05 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

That should be the title of my posts to kick off the new year – including today.  Even though I’m having trouble writing a simple blog, I’m thinking about submitting some scripts to the executives at 24.  I don’t watch many television shows, but that is one of my favs & this silly writer’s strike is causing issues!  I guess I shouldn’t say it’s silly b/c I really don’t know anything about it, but my goodness can we get to an agreement already!?!  Now we can’t even watch the Golden Globes – we have to watch the “Golden Globe Announcments” – how lame is that!!  It’s crazy that a strike even trickles down to the fashion industry – no red carpet = no fancy dresses.

I also think it’s funny how so many stars & people hate reality shows, but that’s about the only thing you can watch these days.  Have you noticed how many more reality & game shows there are now?  Well I better go run work on Jack saving the world … first I guess I have to break him out of prision;)

My New Friend Jack

January 9, 2008 at 1:01 pm (juicing) ()

Pep was flipping channels sometime during the holidays & we came up on the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer … those infomercials are so dangerous!! They start slashing prices & I’m ready to buy:)

The Juicing Machine

You can stick an entire apple – core & all into the machine & out comes apple juice.   We’ve had “juicers” before, but nothing quite like this – this thing isn’t just a juicer.  It’s a juicing machine!!!  Today had a glass of fresh juice made w/one orange, one carrot & one apple … Yummy!
