Dear Chick-fil-A,

May 21, 2008 at 11:22 am (Uncategorized) ()

I had heard that you recently updated your menu.  I thought oh boy, that should be fun!  I went today to grab a quick sandwich before a doctor’s appt.  I was really looking forward to my Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich - you know the one - the tasty chicken salad between two slices of wheat bread that are pressed flately together & warming inside your Chick-fil-A thermal bags.

As I looked up at the menu, I thought to myself - oh that’s a new menu board … wait, no that’s the new menu!  I glance through to find the Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich - you know the one - the tasty chicken salad between two slices of wheat bread that are pressed flately together & warming inside your Chick-fil-A thermal bags.

So I then asked the stupid question with the obvious answer … “did your Chicken Salad Sandwich change?”.  The 12-year old cashier told me that it’s the same Chicken Salad but they’ve added lettuce & put it on a thicker bread b/c the other one got flat & mushy.  I liked flat & mushy … it was easy to eat in the car & it tasty so yummy!  I smiled at the 12-year old and said, “ok, I’ll give it a shot”.

She then handed me my new Chick-fil-A Chicken Salad Sandwich with a big old piece of Green Leaf Lettuce inside of a clear clamshell package (which as your online press release states that’s to resemble packaging more typical of high-end deli than a fast-food restaurant).

Would you please tell Truett that I prefer the old Chicken Salad Sandwich … that I like my flat, mushy sandwich in the thermal foil bag b/c I came to Chick-fil-A (a fast food restaurant & not a high-end deli).  The new one’s pretty good (after removing that Green Leaf Lettuce, but it falls apart too easily & I have to peel the bark back because who really like’s the end stuff anyways?

Very Sincerely,

it’s come to this …

And PS - No offense towards your 12-year old cashiers.  They are always more together than any other adult at your competition!

Temporarily inconclusive

May 20, 2008 at 4:00 pm (Uncategorized)

Well I got sick of being sick, so I decided to head to the doctor.  She said it looks like strep, but the “rapid strep test” was negative & they’re sending out the other test to the lab - thus the title that we’re “temporarily inconclusive”.

BUT because of the Memorial Holiday, the office is closed Friday & Monday which means no results until T-U-E-S-D-A-Y!  As in one week from today!!!!  She gave me a perspcription for some medicine just in case I start getting a fever or considerably worse, but she’d prefer I stay off as long as possible in case it’s not strep!

So what in the world does that mean!?!?!  Basically (as I thought), for now anyways, I paid $25 to be told I have a sore throat - UGH!!!

The silver lining …

ME:  “So what do I do between now & then?”

Doc:  “Continue with your salt water, cough drops & sprays … and you have my permission to drink as many Smoothies & Shakes as you want because they’ll be little icepacks for your throat”

That was almost worth the $25 right there!

What to do

May 20, 2008 at 7:10 am (Uncategorized)

I have a sore throat.  Some coughing, but that’s just because my throat is sore & dry.  My “Approved Over-the-Counter Medication for Obstetrical Patients” says:

“May use Cepacol or other cough drops, as well as Chloraseptic and salt water gargles (yuck).  If persists, especially with fever, may need to come in for a throat culture”.

Well I have no other symptoms, but my throat is incredibly uncomfortable.  I really don’t want to pay a $25 co-pay to be told I have a sore throat!!  I’ve only had strep once in my life & I definitely had more symptoms than just a sore throat.  But sprays & salt water are silly b/c they feel great while you’re spraying, but a few minutes after that numbing sensation stops it hurts again.

It’s been going on since Friday.  Should I go to the doctor - oh how I hate going to the doctor??

The exchange

May 19, 2008 at 2:13 pm (Uncategorized)

Last week I did it.  I officially handed in my laptop & wrapped up my “short term/part time” job that was originally supposed to end in December, then in March, then in April … and on May 12th - it finally ended!  I feel like a free woman.  A broke free woman, but free non the less!

He may have a point

May 7, 2008 at 9:58 pm (Uncategorized) (, , )

Pep always gives me a hard time about leaving my shoes laying around the house … I’ve always disagreed.

However since this picture was not taken in my closet, but rather on the front steps after rounding up my shoes for the week … he may have a point!

Let’s Make a Deal!

April 18, 2008 at 11:49 am (Uncategorized) (, )

Why is it that I seem to agree to having garage sales when I hate them so much?!?!

Maybe it’s the joy of cleaning house?  Maybe it’s the joy of having some cash in my pocket for the weekend?  Maybe it’s the joy of giving someone else the opportunity to buy my treasures:)

But it’s definitely NOT the setting up, tearing down or sitting out in the son all day!!!  Plus these “customers” are interupting my online time :)

Tax Day

April 15, 2008 at 8:36 pm (Uncategorized) ()

This day usually doesn’t mean too much to me … we normally get our taxes done by the end of February, so April 15th is just another day on the calendar. HOWEVER … when I went to drop off a package at the local post office - I VERY QUICKLY remembered.  And I very quickly realized just how many stinkin’ procrastinators there are out there!!!
